The Hope Network
This blog is for anyone who needs help. We're not official psychiatrists, but we can listen to anyone, whether you have an eating disorder like anorexia, a mental disorder such as BPD or depression, or addictions such as substance abuse or self harm. We're here to help you. Please ask questions, seek advice, or just use us as a shoulder to cry on. You are not alone, and you never have to be.
If you urgently need help, we are available on the Hope Network chat.
Anonymous asked: I feel selfish for thinking it, but sometimes I do just want to die. It could be something little (usually is) that sets me off, and then I'm crying and shaking for a while. I don't get bullied, I've got a lot of friends, my family are fine, I'm healthy. I just don't get why I feel this way, especially over little things, but when I'm crying, everything else comes into mind and it all builds up. I'm wondering if this is kind of a stupid ask to send, but I think I might be bi-polar or something.
Hi love,
I’m so, so sorry you’re dealing with this. I understand your confusion as to why you’re depressed or anxious. Sometimes it seems like there’s nothing big that triggers us, doesn’t it? I think you should definitely look into depression or bi-polarity; it’s a chemical imbalance in the brain, and really, you don’t need to have had something particularly awful happen to you in order to be depressed. However, do not self-diagnose. I suggest you go to someone you trust- a parent, an aunt or uncle, a doctor, a school counselor, someone from your church, synagogue, or other religious organ….anyone. You shouldn’t have to deal with this pain, confusion, and sadness alone- you need professional help and I am so excited to hear about your journey towards figuring out what exactly is going on in that beautiful mind of yours.
Love,
Molly

Anonymous asked: how do you know that you shouldn't just kill yourself though you want to?
Because you have people around you who care. I care. Friends care. Family cares. You shouldn’t kill yourself because you still have life left to live. You still have everything waiting for you. All the experiences you haven’t yet gotten. Like, meeting the person you’re going to marry, having kids, growing up, getting your dream job, doing everything wonderful that comes with being old. Why kill yourself when truly there is a lot to look forward to? You might not see it yet, I know it took me a long time to, but you do truly have a lot and the future is ahead of you. Only think of the future. Not the past. Besides, we’re all here for you. All of us at THN. We love you, and you’re special. Come talk to me and I can help you. I can be your friend. <3
